Deborah “Debbie” Randall Ek, 60, resident of 104 Cruger Court, wife of John W. Ek, died July 22, 2012 at her home.
Born in Greenwood County, January 14, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Homer M. and Alice Shipes Randall. Debbie was a graduate of Ninety Six High School, Class of 1970 and was formerly employed as a financial analyst with the Department of Defense/USAF. She was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are a son, John Ek (Shannon Obar) of Ninety Six and grandchildren, Elainey and Jordan; two brothers, Marion Randall of Saluda and Brooks Randall (Pam) of Greenwood; a brother-in-law, Richard Harris of Waterloo; cousin, Sharron Wren and a special friend, Sandra Randall. She was predeceased by her sister, Beth Harris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 5 PM Wednesday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Davis officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens on Thursday, July 26th at 3 PM.
Pallbearers will be Chris Ek, Jeff Ek, Matt Randall, Cayne Randall, Matt Cawood, Drew Cawood, Michael Cawood, Scott Pilgrim and Tim Norman.
Honorary escort will be members of the Ninety Six High School Class of 1970.
The family is at the home and will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:30 to 5 Wednesday afternoon.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the entire Hospice staff with special thanks to Bridgette Clemons, Tonia White, Hope Swaney, Kathy Hodges, Oneita Pierce and Lori Mounts and also to her loyal sitters, Lindsey Ek, Brenda Stewart, Janie Scarborough and Eloise Moore for all of the love and kindness shown to Debbie during her illness.
