Fred Otto Deal, II, 70, resident of 3902 Callison Highway, husband of Lena Reed Deal, died November 29, 2012 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born February 17, 1942, in Charleston, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Joseph Fred and Margaret Bertha Stewart Deal. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School. Formerly employed by F.L. Aerospace and Roberts Foundry, he was retired from Greenwood Fabricating and Plating.
Mr. Deal was a member of Bold Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons, Joseph C. (Cheryl) Deal of Pitts, GA and Fred O. (Alison)Deal, III of Greenwood; three daughters, Kimberly (Mike)Tyler of Plum Branch, and Jessica (Benji) Baker and Emily (Terence) Burdette, all of Greenwood; a grandson, Reed Deal; two great-grandsons, Conner Burdette and William Baker and a step-granddaughter, Marissa Blackstock. He was predeceased by a sister, Nannie Mae Rush.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Sunday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Keller officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Benji Baker, Terence Burdette, Mike Tyler, Jeremiah Owens, Bobby Briggs, Hilton Dodgen, Jr., Craig Opperman and Caleb Baker.
Honorary escort will be Reed Deal.
The family is at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Fred, III and Alison Deal, 3903 Callison Highway, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Saturday evening.
