Rudy Earwood - Greenwood

  Harry “Rudy” Earwood, 76, of 110 Lakeview Drive, husband of Linda Staggs Earwood, died Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Hospice House.

  Born in Cartersville, GA., he was a son of the late Elmer Earwood and Willie Jenkins Earwood Holt. He was retired from the US Army, where he served in the Vietnam Conflict. He attended Emerald Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Sunday School Class.

  Surviving in addition to his wife and favorite pet, Nikki, of the home are his children, Robby Fulmer (Jan) of Greenwood and Donna Beacham of Simpsonville; two sisters, Nell Mathis (Ralph) of Chatsworth, GA. and Pat Prater of Murphy, NC.; four brothers, Jackie Earwood (Pauline), Danny Earwood (Lola), Larry Earwood (Dale), all of Dalton, GA., and Ellis Earwood (Brenda) of Resaca, GA.; four grandchildren, Brooke Woodard (Tory) of Summerville, Blake Beacham of Simpsonville, Rick Harrison (Lisa), and Nakia Patricks (Chuck), both of Greenwood; eleven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly, and special friends, Joe McDonald and Charles McDonald.

  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane McDonald Earwood and a sister, Dean Adcock.

  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Emerald Baptist Church with the Rev. Chad Charles and the Rev. Jimmy Tucker officiating. Burial, with full military rites, will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

  The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.

  Memorials may be made to Emerald Baptist Church Building Fund, 110 E. Laurel Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29649 or to the charity of one’s choice.

  The family is at the home.

  Harley Funeral Home and Crematory ( are assisting the Earwood family.
