Mildred Patricia “Patsy” Godfrey Knight, 81, resident of 111 Piedmont Avenue, widow of Wade R. Knight, passed away August 1, 2017, at NHC Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born March 1, 1936, in Hodges, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas “J.T.” and Margaret Morrison Godfrey. She formerly ran a home based child care business for many years.
A member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church she was also a member of the Adult Bible Sunday School Class of the church and was for many years theSunday School Department Secretary.
Surviving are a son, Roger Dale and wife Cyndy Lee Knight of Hodges; a sister, Dora Timms; three brothers, Marvin (Gladys) Godfrey, Samuel Pete (Lois) Godfrey and Robert (Linda) Godfrey, Sr., all of Hodges; grandchildren, Chastity (Radd) Copeland and Joey (Christina) Knight; great-grandchildren, Noah Hall, Taylin Hall, Colton Knight and Jordan Rena Knight.
She was predeceased by a son, Thomas Joe Knight; two brothers, Frank Godfrey and Floyd Godfrey; and a sister, Dot Shirley.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Friday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Marty Wiles and Rev. Gayle Summey officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Noah Hall, Joey Knight, Radd Copeland, Tommy Holland, Dorton Shirley and Keith Giles.
The family is at the home on Piedmont Avenue and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Thursday evening.
