Jacqueline “Sue” Monaghan, 79, wife of Michael G. “Mike” Monaghan, died Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in Dowagiac, Michigan, April 5, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Theodore T. and Juva Tuttle Johnson. Mrs. Monaghan graduated from Western Michigan University and retired from the State of California Department of Migrant Education where she taught English as a second language. After coming to Greenwood and over the past 24 years "Miss Sue" counseled young adults who had substance abuse issues. A certified Master Gardner, Sue enjoyed her flower gardens and especially enjoyed working on the "jeep" topiary in uptown Greenwood.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years and two sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Stacie Monaghan of Yuba City, California, Stephen and Lisa Monaghan of Grass Valley, California. Adopted son and daughter-in-law Bulmaro and Maria Uriostegui of Yuba City, California. Her sister, Phyllis Hoger of Paw Paw, Michigan and seven grandchildren.
Burial will be in Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, California.
