Dorothy Montjoy “Dot” Bolton, 99, resident of Brookdale Greenwood Assisted Living, widow of Julian H. Bolton, died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Hospice House.
Born in Greenwood, October 11, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Larry Watts and Mattie Bessie Williams Montjoy. Mrs. Bolton retired from Greenwood Mills, Sloan Plant.
A lifelong member of West Side Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Faith and Hope Sunday School Class and was a member of the church choir.
She was predeceased by three of her four children; David Lynn Bolton, Linda Bolton Anderson and Bruce Terry Bolton.
Dot is survived by a son, Julian Carroll “Buddy” Bolton and wife Vickie K. Bolton; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Bolton and son-in-law, Ronnie Anderson. Nine grandchildren, Tammy M. Kirk (Ken), Tara B. Calliham, Shannon B. Harrington, Christy A. Rodgers (John), Kevin Anderson, Andrew B. Anderson (Michele), David L. Bolton (Diane), Julianna B. Galloway (Chris) and Casey Bolton and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at West Side Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Reverend Hal Lane officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Anderson, Andrew Anderson, David Bolton, Casey Bolton, Blake Rodgers, Hunter Calliham, Ashley Troy Dennin and Zachary Bolton.
The family is at their respective homes.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church.
The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 10:00-11:00AM.
