Jewel Brooks Knight, 78 of 216 Lowell Street, Ninety Six, widow of Ralph Donald Knight, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Hospice House surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Chickamauga, GA, she was a daughter of the late Thomas William Brooks and Entha Gumm Brooks. Jewel worked with Connie Maxwell and was a member of Light House of Faith Church where she was the music leader and sang alongside her husband with the Ralph Knight Singers.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Knight.
Surviving are son, Donnie Knight (Beverly) of Ninety Six; three daughters, Linda Gail Richardson (George) of Ninety Six, Rhonda Goldman of Greenwood and Kathy Burdette (Brandon) of Ware Shoals; a daughter-in-law, Rebekah Knight of Greenwood; three sisters, Darleen Davis (Jimmy), Dorcas Fisher (Bobby) and Patsy Hoffman, all of Hodges; a brother, Rev. Thomas Brooks (Joanne) of Mt. Holly, NC; six grandchildren, Eric Knight (Valerie), Dana Worthy (Paul), Kayla Beard (Cody), Hannah Johnson (Derek), Julia Burdette and Colby Burdette; two great grandchildren, Brenna Worthy and Morgan Worthy; a sister in Christ, Gertrude McKelley; special friend, Gary Quarles; and several step grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3:30 pm on Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Danny Rodgers and Rev. Thomas Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Eric Knight, Colby Burdette, Paul Worthy, Cody Beard and Derek Johnson.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home before the service from 2:00 to 3:30 pm.
