Nicolas Fred “Nick” Cohen, 38 resident of 143 Valley Road, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at his home.
Born in Greenwood June 5, 1979, he was a son of the late Howard Francis Cohen and Donna Louise Hawkins Cohen. He was a graduate of Ninety Six High School and received his BA from Limestone College. Nick was a US Air Force Veteran having received numerous recognitions, Air Force Training Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal. He was an avid Gamecock fan.
He was a member of Coronaca Baptist Church and attended Ninety Six First Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother of the home are a son, Colton J. Cohen of West Richland, WA; a daughter, Angela Carter Cohen of the home; sister, Amy Cohen (Jeff) Lawson of Ninety Six; nephews, Brady and Evan Lawson of Ninety Six; his grandfather, Fred W. Hawkins of Greenwood; grandmother, Dorothy Sutton of Newberry and many cherished aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded by his brother, Jason Howard Cohen.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be conducted 11AM Saturday in the Oakbrook Memorial Park Hillside Garden with Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Goforth, Lamar Thompson, Will Stroup, Daniel Lewis, Michael Cohen and Jeff Lawson.
The family is at the home in Spring Valley and will receive friends immediately following the graveside service at the Oakbrook Memorial Park Family Center.
