Elvena Larkins - Greenwood

Elvena McCoy Larkins, 85, resident of 207 Norris Road, widow of Robert Thomas Larkins, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born March 27, 1932, in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Clinton Eugene and Viola Dominick McCoy.  She attended Greenwood schools and retired as office manager for Larkins Electric Service and prior to that from Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant and was previously employed with the Panola Plant of Abney Mills.

A charter member of Panola United Methodist Church she was also a member of the Kate Holley Sunday School Class of the church and the United Methodist Women.  She was also a longtime member of the Mary Pinckney Ouzts Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are two daughters, Thomasine and husband Bill Lybrand and Brenda Larkins, all of Greenwood; a son, Robert E. Larkins of Greenwood; a brother, Rev. Dr. Frank McCoy and wife Bennie of Abbeville; two sisters, Mary Donn of Greenwood and Florie and husband Charles Graham of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Billy (Susan) Lybrand, Robby (Jennifer) Lybrand, Bryce Lybrand, Clint Larkins, Tyler (Jennifer) Larkins, Judd (Leslie) Larkins and Dr. Christy Larkins; three great-grandchildren, Addison Lybrand, Peyton Larkins and Ryder Larkins.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Julie Ann Larkins, a daughter-in-law, Rachel Grubb Larkins, a son-in-law, Bobby Luker, a brother, Eugene McCoy and a sister, Corrine M. Seymour.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Tuesday at Panola United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Evans officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons along with nephews, Ben McCoy and Franklin McCoy, Jr.

The family is at the home on Norris Road and will receive friends at the church from 12 noon until 1 Tuesday afternoon.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Mildred Reid, Amy Griffin and Jean Grubb for their love, kindnesses and devotion as caregivers for Mrs. Larkins during her illness.
