James Thomas “Jimmy” Chandler, 80, resident of Troy, husband of Laura Langley Chandler, died September 12, 2017 at National Healthcare of Greenwood.
Born in Greenwood, June 13, 1937, he was a son of the late Broadus Louden and Mary Robinson Chandler. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended Lander College. Jimmy served in the SC National Guard. He retired as a foreman from the L.B. Adams Cattle Farm and following his retirement, started his own business making surveying stakes.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Ninety Six.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 24 years of the home is a sister, Jane and husband Jasper “Sonny” Rush of Troy; a niece, Betsy and husband Tripp Owings of Greenwood; a great-niece, Sarah Elizabeth Owings and a great-nephew, James Chandler Owings.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 PM Thursday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating. Burial to follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Greg Hicks, Gerald Robinson, Burt Wetzel, Warren Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Bill Courtney.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 3 to 4 Thursday afternoon.
