Joanne Bagwell Wright, 78, resident of 4121 Moorefield Street, wife of James Henry “Jimmy” Wright, Sr., passed away October 1, 2017, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born September 5, 1939, in Greenwood she was a daughter of the late Breal and Ruby Hughes Bagwell. She was a graduate of Ware Shoals High School and retired from Bayberry Assisted Living. She and Jimmy were the former owner/operators of The Sunken Garden.
Mrs. Wright was member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ware Shoals.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 50 years are two sons, Keith and wife Faye Summer of Ware Shoals and James Henry “Jim” Wright, Jr. of Greenwood; a grandson, Richard Summer of Shoals Junction; three step-grandchildren, Don Cooper of Ware Shoals, Theresa Hannah of Pickens and Tammy Peel of Moore, SC; nine great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Nix officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mike Sanders, Robert Luker, Michael Hannah, Jeff Sullivan, Jack Graves, Mickey Boland, Pee Wee Hannah, Jerry Jordan and Don Cooper.
Honorary escort will be Richard Summer.
The family is at the home of Keith and Faye Summer, 14398 Indian Mound Road, Ware Shoals, and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2Wednesday afternoon.
