Sara Poole Peeler, 94, of 108 Cottonwood Street, widow of Clarence “Pop” Peeler, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Hospice House.
Born in Camden, AL., she was the daughter of the late William Rufus Poole, Sr. and Sadie Capell Poole. She was a nurse for over 50 years and retired from Self Memorial Hospital after 18 years. Mrs. Peeler was a member of Trinity Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are her three daughters, Elizabeth Peeler of the home, Brenda Norris (Jimmy) of Ninety Six, and Mary Moss (Terry) of Cross Hill; two sons, Michael Peeler (Donna) and Billy Peeler (Marty), both of Greenwood; a special niece and nephew, Lisa Coker and Randy Poole; six grandchildren; one step grandchild; four great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Poole, James Poole, and Will Poole, Jr. and a step granddaughter, Amy Norris Truelove.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Barden officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Peeler, David Peeler, Chris Matthews, Josh Matthews, Jamie Norris, and Randy Poole.
The family will receive friends before the service on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
