April Davis Harvey - McCormick

April Davis Harvey, 55, resident of McCormick, SC, died Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Self Regional Healthcare Medical Center.

Born February 5, 1963 in Hampton VA to the late Tommy Davis and Kay Newman. She graduated from South Point High School in Gastonia NC and Southwestern Community College in Sylva, NC. April worked in healthcare most of her adult career.

She was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Waynesville, NC.

Surviving are her mother, Kay Newman of Maggie Valley, NC; her stepmother Emily Davis of Waynesville, NC; her step children; Kristina Taylor and husband Vince of Asheville, NC, Jennifer Champion and husband Shaun and Becky Guthrie and husband Jimmy, all of Hendersonville, NC; her step grandchildren, Aydin Taylor, Vince Taylor III, Isaiah Taylor, Mya Taylor, Logan Champion, and Wade Champion; her sisters, Pam Davis, Rebekah Wilson and husband Cheyenne, and Harmonie Davis, all of Waynesville, NC, Wendy Davis of Maggie Valley, NC; her brothers, Odin Davis and Zander Davis both of Waynesville, NC; her niece, Bailee Price; her nephew, Quintin Wilson; her great niece Rhiannon Rhinehart. She was predeceased by her stepfather, Greg Newman.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be conducted Sunday, April 8, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM from Antioch Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Waynesville, NC with Rev. Allan Davis and Rev. Heath Davis speaking.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in April’s name be made to the Tommy Davis Scholarship Fund, Haywood County Schools Foundation, Attention Jenny Wood Valliere, 1230 N. Main St. Waynesville, NC 28786, (828) 456-2400 Ext. 2117.
