Rita Maxine Thomas - Greenwood
Rita Maxine Thomas, 51, a true angel of God, was given to us on June 8, 1966 born in Greenwood County. She was the daughter of Ruth Ella Hawkins Thomas and the late Lester C. Thomas Sr. She received a call from the Heavenly Throne on April 28, 2018 at Self Regional Healthcare.

She received her education in the public schools of Ninety Six, SC and graduated in the class of 1984. She was employed with the Wal-Mart family as a Wal-Mart Associate for 23 years.

She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age, and was a devout, loving, and giving Christian. Rita left a lasting impact on the lives of every person she met. Her sweet spirit, love for life, and love for people was truly transmissible.

She leaves to cherish her memories her mother of the home, a loving brother, Lester C. (London) Thomas Jr. of Ninety Six, five nieces: Cortney Washington, Anterica Thomas, Chesney Thomas, Ambria Thomas, and Kinsley Thomas, and two great nephews Damarri and Jakhari Thomas, one uncle Bennie (Ernestine) Scott, and three aunts: Doris (Jerome) Handy, Minnie Bell Posey, and Annie Bell Hawkins; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Funeral services are 10:00 am on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, in Ninety Six, SC, with Rev. Robert Heflin Presiding and Rev. Joseph Caldwell Presiding.

Burial will be in Ninety-Six Community Cemetery
