Mrs. Pearlena Wideman Garrett 85, of 405 A Taggart Street widow of George Garrett, Sr. entered into eternal rest June 4, 2018 at her home.
She was born in Greenwood County September 16, 1932 a daughter of the late Velma Wideman and Katherine Simmons Wideman.
She was a member of Refuge Temple Church and served faithfully for many years and attended Greenwood County Public Schools. She retired frpm, Greenwood Mop and Broom Factory after 50 years of dedicated service.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother to her family and the Taggart Street Community. She was preceded in death by three children, George Bo Garrett, Jr., Velma Lee Williams(Sonny) and Katherine "Kitty" Williams She leaves to cherish her memories one son, Bennie Lee (Belinda) Garrett of Greenwood ; a daughter Linda Garrett of Greenwood; one sister Lillie Ree Gilbert of the home; four grandchildren Kelsey Terrell Belcher (Tasha) , Devin (Kena) Belcher, Kiandra Garrett, Matarvis Garrett ; devoted cousins, Mrs Carrie Lee Christian ; devoted niece, Maxine Peterson-Blocker Burnette (Helped with last minute details); devoted granddaughter and caregiver LaTasha Roundtree ; grandson and granddaughter reared in home, Dwayne and Francine Curenton; a host of great grandchildren; a special caregiver, Emma Jackson and Amber Ellenberg of Hospice Care of South Carolina and a host nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She will also be missed dearly by Dr Benjamin Hill and Staff of Family Physicians of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Thursday June 7, 2018 at the Percival Tompkins Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens
Pallbearers will be Howard Belcher, Kelsey T. Belcher Jr., Darrin Gilbert, Tony Christian, Kevin Christian and Rick Christian.
Flower bearers will be Emma Jackson, Latoya Crawford, Tiesha Oliver, Tracy Morgan, Tammy R. Sampson and Alice S. Jones.
