James Agner - Greenwood
James McKelvy Agner, 79, resident of Orchard Park, former resident of Crestview Drive, husband of Shirley Ann Beal Agner, passed away October 6, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville. 

Born August 14, 1939, in Edgefield, he was a son of the late Lewis Edward and Alice Sue Rearden Agner.  He was a graduate of Edgefield High School and was formerly a member of the SC National Guard and was retired from Duke Energy after 32 years of service.

A member of West Side Baptist Church, he was also a member of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class of the church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two sons, James Kevin Agner of Hodges, and Ronald Jeffrey “Jeff” and wife Julie Wilson of Greenville; a daughter, Lisa Agner Mann of Greenville; three grandsons, Benjamin Oliver Wilson, John Robert Wilson and Lucas Jeffrey Wilson.

He was predeceased by a brother, George Edward Agner.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday at West Side Baptist Church with Rev. Kyle Richter and Dr. Ralph D’Amore officiating.  Entombment will be in the Oakbrook Memorial Park Mausoleum. 

Pallbearers will be Cliff Laughlin, Artie Hazel, Wayne Miller, George Agner, Talton Prince and Eddie Agner.

Honorary escort will be retirees of Duke Energy.

The family is at the home in Orchard Park and will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 Tuesday afternoon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Louis P. Batson, Jr. Cancer Care Center, c/o The St. Francis Foundation, One St. Francis Drive, Greenville, SC  29601.
