Bert Marion Keck, 93, husband of Eldora James Keck of 152 Cherokee Drive, died Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Hospice House of the Piedmont.
Born August 28, 1925 in Paulding, Ohio, he was the son of Floyd Gordon Keck and Marie Stall Keck. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps and graduated in 1949 from the University of Indianapolis. He came to Greenwood in 1962 with the Chemstrand/ Monsanta Company where he worked in Manufacturing Supervision, Process Engineering and Research and Development at the Greenwood plant. As well as plants in Pensacola, Florida, Decutur, Alabama and Esternach, Luxembourg while maintaining a family in Greenwood.
He was an active member of Main Street United Methodist Church of Greenwood and enjoyed hobbies that included square dancing, Ham Radio, golf and extensive RV Travel.
Mr. Keck was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Keck of Ohio. Surviving in addition to his wife of 69 years are sisters, Emily Sharp of Lebanon, Ohio and Amy Bollenbach of Homer, Alaska; daughters Nancy Keck Lumley (John) and Lori Keck Buist (Mike), both of Greenwood; and grandchildren Carolyn Lumley, Amy Buist Maxwell (Lee) and Scott Buist. Also surviving is one great-grandchild, Olsen Maxwell and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Keck will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Main Street United Methodist Church Friday, October 26 in the sanctuary. Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Blyth Funeral Home from 5:30-7:30 Thursday evening.
