Dora Timms - Hodges

Dora Godfrey TImms, 89, resident of Hodges, widow of Harold TImms, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Hospice House.

Born July 2, 1929, in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late John Thomas and Margaret Morrison Godfrey.  She was retired from Godfrey’s Market.

A member of New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church she was also a member of the Senior Sunday School Class of the church.

Surviving are a son, Jimmy and wife Rene’ Timms of Hodges; two brothers, Pete and wife Lois Godfrey and Robert and wife Linda Godfrey, all of Hodges; five grandchildren, Jamie (Michelle) Timms and Jason (Amanda) Timms, all of Spartanburg, Greg (Crystal) Beauford of Abbeville; Tiffany Hill of Spartanburg and Liegh Hill of California; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three brothers, Floyd Godfrey, Frank Godfrey and Marvin Godfrey; two sisters, Dot Shirley and Pat Knight; and a grandson, Andy Beauford.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Smith and Rev. Tim Ellenberg officiating.  Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be grandsons along with Chris Godfrey, Terry Shirley, Dorton Shirley and Roger Dale Knight.

Honorary escort will be members of the Senior Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 Tuesday afternoon.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staffs of NHC Healthcare and Hospice House, in especially, Sharee Austin.

Memorials may be made either to New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 369, Hodges, SC  29653, or Hospice Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
