Ruby Creswell - Greenwood

Ruby Rush Creswell, 74, of Creswell Road, wife of Oliver “Craig” Creswell, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at her home.

Born in Greenwood January 11, 1944 to Ruben Rallie and Gertrude Patterson Rush. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and earned an associate’s degree in business from Limestone College. She retired from Cooper Power System, now Eaton, as a Senior Quality Control Inspector.

She was a member of Cedar Springs ARP Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her children, Barbara Turnburke (Vinnie)of Greenwood, Ellen Arnold (Cliff) of Bradley and Stephen Craig Creswell (Lisa) of Greenwood; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Turnburke (Elissa) of Greenwood, Shelly Turnburke Hlavka (Chris Porter) of Michigan, Rebecca Turnburke Farr (Jesse) of Prosperity, Bradley Arnold (Lena Walshe) of Charleston, Eliana Creswell and Malia Creswell, both of Greenwood; 5 great-grandchildren, Abby and Amelia Turnburke, Karis, Keslee and Craig Hlavka; siblings, Sylvia  (John) Richey, Linda (Robert) Richardson, Sam (Faye) Rush, Selena (Ken) Ashley, Bob (Laurie) Rush, Beth (Vernon) Burke, Kathy (Alvin) Davis, Sonya (Leroy) Gregory and Linda Rush. She was predeceased by sisters, Jane Ray and Nelva Rush and  a brother, Arthur Rush.

Funeral services will be conducted at Cedar Springs ARP Church Saturday at 11 AM with Dr. Lloyd Melton and Rev. Chuck Keller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.

Honorary escort will be Don and Earline Lindley, Johnny Richey, Carol Smith, Sara Morse and Jim Cantrell.

The family is at the home of  her daughter Ellen Arnold, 1323 Creswell Road, Bradley, SC 29819 and will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Springs ARP Church, 2164 Cedar Springs Road, Bradley, 29819.

The family would like to thank Dr. Joanna Sadurski, Dr. Jeffrey Lanford, Dr. Kim Russell, Sandy Williams, the staff of the Cancer Center and Hospice Care of the Piedmont for their compassionate care.
