Mittie Sue Hanley James, 94, resident of 110 Biltmore Street, widow of Floyd James, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at NHC Clinton.
Born March 29, 1925, in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late LeRoy and Mary Linda Burnett Hanley. She was retired from the Harris Plant of Greenwood Mills.
She was a member of Hodges Church of God.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise J. Smith and husband Larry of Greenwood; grandchildren, Brooks Fisher West and husband Brian of Kentucky, and Bradford Louis James of Rock Hill; a great-grandchild, Sawyer Gibson West; a brother, Ralph Lamar “Ike” Hanley and wife Bonnie of Georgia; a sister-in-law, Lila Hanley.
She was predeceased by a son, Billy Louis James; two sisters, Caroline Jean Hanley and Mary Lou Hanley Burda; two brothers, James Edward “Jim” Hanley and C.G. Hanley; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Hanley.
Mrs. James’s body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed on the grave at 10:30 Saturday morning.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Zach Jones officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service.
