Rachel Christine Leopard, 79, former resident of 307 Norwood Avenue, resident of NHC Healthcare in Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born November 23, 1939, in Ninety Six, she was a daughter of the late Washington and Mary Alice Butler Leopard. She was a 1958 graduate of Ninety Six High School, was a graduate of Beacon Bible College and was retired from the Mathews Plant of Greenwood Mills. She previously worked at the Ninety Six Plant before it was closed, having been associated with Greenwood Mills for more than 40 years and was a member of the company’s Quarter Century Club.
A member of Faith Temple Holiness Church, she taught in several Sunday School classes throughout the various age groups of the church.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Elizabeth Leopard of Ninety Six; a brother, Jerry W. Leopard, Sr. and wife Barbara of Greenwood; four nephews, Brian Hermanson and wife, Terri and Jeffrey Hermanson and wife, Megan, all of W. Palm Beach, FL, Jerry W. Leopard, Jr. and Ricky Leopard; a niece, Melissa Leopard; and four grand nieces and nephews, Nicole, Lauren, Caden and Colby Hermanson.
She was predeceased by a sister, Latrelle Leopard Peterson.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Monday at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Whatley and Rev. C.B. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hermanson, Jeffrey Hermanson and Jerry W. Leopard, Jr.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 1 Monday afternoon.
