Alice Scott Beaudrot, widow of Charles Louis (Charlie) Beaudrot, passed away on June 5, 2019, at the age of 99. Born February 1, 1920 in the Lebanon Community of Ninety Six, S.C. She was the daughter of the late Hughey and May Anderson Scott. She was predeceased by her only sister, Nina Scott Hanna.
Alice attended school in Ninety Six and Greenwood. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1937, where she served as president of her senior class. In 1941, she graduated from Lander College.
She married Charlie Beaudrot in 1941 and later joined her husband as co-owner and manager of Beaudrot’s Flowers. During their years at Beaudrot’s, they directed hundreds of weddings, decorated for parties and receptions, and designed arrangements for area churches every week. Alice and Charlie relished the joy of spending time with their grandchildren. After their retirement in 1971, they enjoyed traveling throughout the USA, Europe and Canada.
Alice served for a number of years on the Lander Alumni Association Board, including a term as president. In 1991 she received the Lander Alumni Award.
A member of First Baptist Church, she was active for many years in the church. She was a member of the Benson Sunday school class, the Joanne Gray Circle, and the WMU of the Church, serving as president and other leadership roles. She was also a former member of Ivy Garden Club.
Fondly remembered as Nannie, she is survived by her daughter, Ann Scott Beaudrot Snead and husband Jim of Greenwood, two grandchildren, Seal Wilson of Greenville, SC., and Catherine Goins (Stephen) of Fayetteville, Ga. and great grandchildren Sloan Wilson, Mary Ellis Goins, Claire Scott Goins, Sarah Grace Goins, and Anna Charles Goins. She is also survived by her step granddaughter Allison Snead Patrick (Richard) and two step great grandchildren, Walker Patrick and Chandler Patrick of Sumter, S.C.

Burial will be conducted on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Oakbrook Memorial Park in Greenwood at 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Greenwood at 3:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the Alice Scott Beaudrot Scholarship Fund of Lander University, Mt. Lebanon Methodist Church, First Baptist Church of Greenwood, or the charity of one’s choice.
