Estelle McCary Spearman, 102, former resident of 1409 Sweetwater Road, widow of Samuel Floyd Spearman, passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Hospice House.
Born in Edgefield, May 24, 1917 and raised in Saluda, she was a daughter of the late Julian L. and Maggie Hall McCary. Mrs. Spearman was a graduate of Saluda High School and retired seamstress from Oxford Industries. She was recently recognized as being the oldest living Charter Member of Woodfields Baptist Church where she served in many capacities to include the TEL Sunday School Class and the WMU. She was also a member of the Woodfields Community Club. She was known for her cooking and baking skills and was loved by all who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Janice Byrd and husband Steve of Ninety Six; four grandchildren, Gina Kerhoulas and husband George of Greenwood, Andrea Sanders of Greenwood, Ross Davis and wife Jennifer of Greenville and Russell Davis and wife Erin of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Allen McCary and wife Pearl of Troutman, NC; five great-grandchildren, McKenzie Reid, Kendall and Lee Sanders, Ethan and Emerson Davis and three step great-grandchildren; George and Ian Kerhoulas and Madison Lanford.
Mrs. Spearman was predeceased by a daughter, Linda Spearman Davis; five brothers, Iredelle, James, Edward, Henry Bell and Bennie McCary; four sisters, Doris Perry, Rosalind Turner, Sagaret Louise Scott and Erline McLendon and a grandson-in-law, Bryan Sanders.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chuck Sprouse and Rev. Ben Hjalmer officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her Nephews.
The family is at the home of Janice and Steve Byrd, 4024 Highway 702 in Ninety Six and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 Sunday afternoon.
