John Wilson Long, 41, resident of Woodlawn Road, passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at his home.
Born March 7, 1978, in Greenwood, he was the son of Charles Wilson Long and Martha Manley Long. He was a graduate of Greenwood School District 50 and attended Clemson University. He was the former co-owner operator of Elauwit Networks in Columbia, where he lived for many years and was currently employed with Boingo Wireless of Columbia, which purchased his former business.
John was devoted to his family and friends and they meant everything to him.
Surviving in addition to his mother and father of Greenwood are two sisters, Rebecca Long Bennett and husband Edwin and Nancy Long Suddeth and husband Matthew, all of Greenwood; four nieces, Jenna (Michael) Jordan, Blair Gossett, Michelle Hasting (Zacary Evans) and Emily Suddeth; a nephew, Hunter Gossett; and great nieces and nephews, Abel Evans, Nicole Thomas, Railyn Thomas and Mason Jordan.
The family will be at the home of his parents, 112 Darlene Drive, and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 1 to 2 Saturday afternoon.
