Ira Duranda Luquire Townsend, 56, resident of 618 Townsend Rd. E., wife of James Curtis Townsend, died November 9, 2012 at her home.
Born in Greenville, March 4, 1956, she was the daughter of Bobbie Jean Collins Luquire and the late John Wesley Luquire. She was a graduate of Wheatland High School, Wheatland, CA and attended Yuba City College, Yuba City, CA. Duranda was formerly employed in the wholesale department of Park Seed Co. for 20 years and later retired from Geo. Seed Co. She deeply loved her husband and children and adored spending time with her grandbabies.
She was a member of Callie Self Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband of the home and her mother of N Myrtle Beach are two daughters, Jessica Stone and husband Robbie of Hodges and Christy Cail of Warner Robbins, GA; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald “Luke” Luquire.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Monday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mac Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bill Maffett, Jason Sellars, Jeff White, Robert Townsend, Jeff Gunnoe, Cliff Akers and Mike Lewis.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Jessica and Robbie Stone, 702 Townsend Rd. E. and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 1 to 2 Monday afternoon.
