Description: Provides professional counseling services and certain educational and personal development activities and programs to University students, responds to a variety of sensitive crisis situations, to include suicide-potential scenarios.
Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree. A master’s degree in counseling or in clinical psychology or in social work, or in student services program with counseling emphasis, is strongly preferred. Experience in college counseling is preferred. Professional counselor licensure is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must possess in-depth knowledge of counseling theories, techniques and issues, and psychology in general and have the ability to integrate helping resources. Must be able to identify and appropriately respond to matters of concern to college students, to include crisis and potential suicidal situations. Must be conversant with substance abuse issues and therapy needs. Must have thorough understanding of human growth and development, along with sound interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively conduct sessions about emotional health.
Hire Range: $31, 182 - $44,438
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday
