Friday, December 14, 2012, was a day that we as a nation will never forget.  Connecticut seems so far away and many of us feel there is little we can do.

At Greenwood High School, the administration, faculty, and students felt that they needed to commit to making a difference.  Mrs. Chera Richardson, Interact Sponsor, contacted Mrs. Beth Taylor about an opportunity for Greenwood High to show their respect and support for those killed and their family and friends trying to cope with this horrible tragedy.

A banner in  honor of those killed in Connecticut was created and made available in the cafeteria for students to sign. The banner stated:

"In honor of those who lost their lives on December 14, 2012, we vow to make a difference in our community, our state, and our country.  You are often in our thoughts, but forever in our hearts.  Greenwood High School 2012-2013."

Students responded overwhelmingly during their lunch periods, not only signing their names, but asking to write notes to those grieving at Sandy Hook Elementary.  Several students also chose to wear green, Sandy Hook Elementary school colors, on Monday as well.

The high school plans to have the banner laminated and sent to Sandy Hook Elementary School.
