With Christmas quickly upon us, sights, sounds and aromas of the season warm the cooling winter air and brighten dark nights. This time each year, the decorations go up and the baking equipment comes out to create those traditional dishes we have all come to look forward to each year.
The Ware Shoals Community Library will host a gingerbread house exhibit. “I wanted to do something different this season, and perhaps start a new tradition. This an amazing opportunity to give patrons a traditional holiday program while combining some of the older favorite traditions”, said Melissa Crenshaw, Branch Manager of the Ware Shoals Community Library.
Gingerbread houses can range from something simple to as fancy as you may see at the Biltmore House. From the very young to the very young at heart, we want the reaction to the magical experience to be the same when people come to view the gingerbread houses. It is all about adding tradition, interaction, and fun. The Gingerbread Houses must be delivered to the Ware Shoals Community Library no later than 5:00 PM Monday, December 2.
The Gingerbread House Exhibit can be viewed anytime during regular house December 3-December 6. Anyone wishing to sign up for exhibition should call the Ware Shoals Library at (864) 456-2813. You may have until Noon December 2 to sign up for the event.
