Newberry County Sheriff's Office OPERATION SANTA CLAUS

It’s that time of year when kids are wishing and dreaming of a Christmas filled with great toys and wonderful memories. Some families though are experiencing difficult financial times and know it will be tough for their children this Christmas.

This year, as in years past, it’s proving to be a hard Christmas season for many locals and the Newberry County Sheriff's Office wants us all to step up to help change this situation.

Anderson Mall Kicks off the Holiday Season with Santa's Arrival on November 16

Anderson Mall announced the upcoming arrival of Santa Claus, ushering in the magic of the holiday season.

Santa will be available at Anderson Mall to greet his guests and capture photo memories during hours listed on shopandersonmall.com beginning November 17 and continuing through December 24.

“We are as excited as ever to commence the holiday season, welcoming Santa Claus back to Anderson Mall to bring smiles and warmth to children and families in our area,” said Chunsta Miller, General Manager at Anderson Mall. “There is something universally magical about visiting Santa, and we’re delighted so many families choose to experience this special holiday tradition with us.”

Holiday Tree Lighting celebration to kick-off season at Lander University

Horse-drawn carriages, ice skating and musical performances will usher in the season at Lander University's Holiday Tree Lighting celebration on Tuesday, November 27.

The university kicks off the holiday season when students return from Thanksgiving Break with a nostalgic celebration. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. outside on Assembly Plaza and extend to the Front Lawn of the Abney Cultural Center.
