Lander's Chris Hobbs and Clement Simonin were named to the first team and Kevin Durand to the second on the Daktronics All-Southeast Region men’s soccer squad that was announced this week.
The Daktronics All-Southeast Region team is voted on by the Sports Information Directors in the Conference Carolinas, Peach Belt Conference and South Atlantic Conference.
Hobbs, a junior midfielder from Cleveland, England, led the Peach Belt Conference with seven game-winning shots. He led Lander in goals scored (11) and scored a team-leading 24 points. He ranked third in the PBC in goals scored and sixth in points scored. He was also named to the All-Peach Belt team announced earlier this month.
Simonin, a sophomore defender from Lorient, France, had one goal and two assists and helped anchor a defense which allowed just 1.19 goals per game. Simonin is a two-time All-PBC player and also was selected NSCAA All-Southeast Region in 2011.
Hobbs and Simonin are now eligible for Daktronics All-American honors.
Durand, a freshman midfielder from Rennes, France, was second in the country in assists per game (0.75) and also had six goals for a team-leading 24 points. He was first in the PBC in assists (12) and sixth in points scored.
The Bearcats finished the season with a 12-3-2 overall record and are currently ranked No. 8 in the NSCAA national poll.
