GREENWOOD – Lander’s Graham Ramos, a junior second baseman from Tampa, Fla., was named the Peach Belt Conference Baseball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 11-17 it was announced by the league office today.
During the week, in which the No. 7 Bearcats went 3-1, Ramos hit .478 (11-for-23). The junior collected multiple hits in all three games of Lander’s PBC series at Flagler College, including a 5-for-6 outing in the second game. In the opener, he doubled and tripled, scored one run and drove in another. He drove in four in the series finale, going 3-for-6.
He also stole two bases and had a .609 slugging percentage (.722 against Flagler). Ramos leads the PBC with 21 hits, is second in runs scored (15), third in total bases (32), sixth in steals (5) and ninth in RBI (12).
Lander opened the week with a 5-3 loss at Carson-Newman in a non-conference contest, then downed Flagler, 11-6, 13-5, and 13-1.
