Columbia, S.C. – The South Carolina-Missouri football game, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 27 will kick at 7 p.m. ET and will be televised nationally on ESPN, it was announced by the league office today.

Gamecocks Rise in National Polls
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Buoyed by a 38-35 win over sixth-ranked Georgia, the South Carolina Gamecocks (2-1, 1-1 SEC) climbed several notches in both national polls released today. The Gamecocks rose 10 spots in the Associated Press poll to No. 14 and climbed seven spots in the Amway Coaches’ poll to No. 16.

Bullock pounds out 18 kills in Erskine victory over Brevard
Columbus, Ga. – Senior Caitlin Bullock (Lexington, SC, White Knoll High School) exploded for a season-high 18 kills as the Erskine Flying Fleet deflated previously unbeaten the Tornado of Brevard College 3 to 0 (25-11, 26-24, 25-23) this afternoon in the first game of the Columbus State Invitational Volleyball Tournament at the Lumpkin Center.

Lander volleyball sets school record with wins over King, Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Lander volleyball set a school-record for the best start ever Saturday when the Bearcats improved to 8-0 on the season after defeating King College, 3-1, and Tusculum College, 3-0, at the Pioneer Classic. Both the 1999 and 2009 teams had 6-0 starts.

No. 24 South Carolina Knocks Off No. 6 Georgia
COLUMBIA, S.C. – After inclement and stormy weather in the Columbia area caused an hour and 26-minute delay to the start of the game, lightning struck as No. 24 South Carolina took down No. 6 Georgia, 38-35, on a rain-soaked evening at Williams-Brice Stadium. After Georgia kicker Marshall Morgan missed his second field goal of the night with 4:24 left on the clock, the Gamecocks were able to run out the clock as senior quarterback Dylan Thompson narrowly converted on a fourth-and-one at midfield with 1:26 left in the game.

No. 12 Lander men's soccer defeats North Greenville, 3-0

TIGERVILLE - The No. 12-ranked Lander men's soccer team got goals from three different players Wednesday night to lead the Bearcats to a 3-0 non-conference victory over North Greenville.

Lander remains unbeaten at 2-0, while the Crusaders drop to 0-2.

Moore and Erskine win AU Invitational
Anderson, S.C. – Erskine's Rachel Moore (Lexington, SC, Lexington High School) shot a three over par to win the Anderson University Invitational Golf Tournament and lead the Erskine Flying Fleet to a 1st place finish in the 8-team tourney field at Cobbs Glen Country Club (5,940 yards, Par 72).  It is the second year in a row that Erskine and an Erskine golfer has won the tournament.

Erskine dominates AU Invitational with 4 Top 10 finishes
Anderson, S.C. – The Erskine Flying Fleet had four golfers finish in the Top 10 to win the 7-team Anderson University Invitational held at Cobb's Glen Country Club (7,005 yards, Par 72).

The Flying Fleet shot a blistering tournament-best 284 today to cruise to an 11 shot victory over second place Queens University.

Lander's Julia Ferreira-Alves named PBC Volleyball Specialist of the Week

Lander's Julia Ferreira-Alves, a junior defensive specialist from Knoxville, Tenn., was selected the season's first Peach Belt Conference Specialist of the Week it was announced today by the PBC office.

In season-opening games last week, Ferreira-Alves helped lead Lander to a 4-0 record by averaging 20.5 digs per game. She ended the week with 82 digs (6.83 per set).

Scott ACC Receiver of the Week
Clemson, S.C. - Clemson freshman receiver Artavis Scott has been named ACC Receiver of the Week.  Scott joins Charlie Whitehurst (2002 vs. Duke), James Davis (2005 vs. South Carolina) and Sammy Watkins (2011 vs. Auburn, Florida State and Maryland) as Tiger freshmen who were honored for ACC weekly awards other than Rookie of the Week in the last 15 years.

Three Tennis Players Earn Preseason ITA Rankings, Earn Invites to All-American

CLEMSON, S.C. – Three Clemson women’s tennis players were ranked in the preseason Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll announced Monday.

Senior Romy Koelzer is the highest ranked Tiger in singles at No. 23, the highest ranking of her career. Senior Beatrice Gumulya is ranked No. 62 and junior Tristen Dewar is No. 95.

Gamecocks Topped by Texas A&M, 52-28

COLUMBIA, S.C. – No. 9 South Carolina saw its 18-game home winning streak end tonight to No. 21 Texas A&M, 52-28 at Williams-Brice Stadium in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.  Aggie sophomore quarterback Kenny Hill passed for a school record 511 yards and three touchdowns. Senior quarterback Dylan Thompson threw for 366 yards and four touchdowns and senior wide receiver Nick Jones had a career-high 113 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

The Lander women's soccer team was picked to finish fifth of 12 teams in the Peach Belt Conference this season according to a preaseason coaches poll that was released yesterday Aug. 26.

The Lander men's soccer team received one first-place vote and was picked to finish second this season in the Peach Belt Conference's preseason poll released today (Aug. 25) by the league office. The poll was voted on by the PBC's 10 head coaches.

Gamecock Club announces Commemorative Brick Program At Williams-Brice Stadium

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of South Carolina Gamecock Club has announced a Commemorative Brick Program, which features a limited number of customizable brick pavers available for purchase at the soon-to-be constructed Springs Brooks Plaza at Williams-Brice Stadium. The engraved bricks will be displayed beginning with the 2015 football season.

Clemson Running Back Zac Brooks Out for Season
Clemson, S.C.—Clemson junior running back Zac Brooks, Clemson’s top returning rusher from last season,  suffered a foot injury Monday night in practice and will be lost for the season.   

“Zac was having an outstanding camp and was ready for a terrific year,” said Head Coach Dabo Swinney.  “The plan is for Zac to sit out this year due to the injury and come back next year as a red-shirt junior. This is a big loss because he is such a reliable player in all phases of the game.  He knows the offense inside and out.”
