Description: Ensures the proper installation, maintenance and repair of facility intrusion alarms, camera systems, facility access control and other related security systems at all facilities within Lander University. Keep the surveillance/Access Control Systems in a constant state of readiness.
Minimum Requirements: Associates Degree in Networking Technology, Surveillance & Access Control or related field with 3 years’ experience installing, servicing and maintaining access control and closed circuit television systems; or HS Diploma with 5 years’ experience installing, servicing and maintaining access control and closed circuit television systems. Previous experience with communications protocols LAN, WAN, WLAN IP Addresses, Static, Dynamic, etc. An IT or electrical background preferred. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Display a basic understanding of low voltage security systems: access control, readers, panels, power supplies, door locking hardware, CCTV, cameras, DVRs/NVRs, low voltage wiring, distance limitations, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), National Electrical Code (NEC) Article 720. Ability to follow instructions and code requirements. Strong abilities in working autonomously, working with all members of the University community and public, and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Hire Range: $33,000 – $40,000 annually
Work Hours: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday
