Description: The Lander University Advancement and Foundation, the private fundraising and alumni relations organization for Lander University, is recruiting for an experienced annual giving professional to join our team. The Director of Annual Giving is responsible for leading the centralized annual giving program to grow immediate and long-term philanthropic support of Lander University. The position also develops, leads, and grows programs to achieve specific fundraising goals in four areas: alumni/donor participation, leadership annual giving, parent, and student giving.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 7-10+ years of increasingly responsible experience in annual giving, development and/or marketing. Master's degree is preferred. Fundraising experience in higher education is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, database systems and cloud-based software applications. Must have exceptional people skills and interpersonal abilities. Must be able to build and maintain close relationships and engender trust. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High language skills, intermediate mathematical skills, high reasoning ability. Strong knowledge of annual giving strategies, direct response marketing and comprehensive fundraising programs. Skilled in strategic planning, critical thinking, and negotiation; strong analytic aptitude as well as data analysis/interpretation skills. Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across organizational functions and with campus partners. Knowledge and passion for Lander University and higher education.
Hire Range: Commensurate with experience.
Work Hours: Varied to include some travel, evenings and weekends.
