Position Scope: The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for the production staff and customer liaisons. Must be able to lead and maintain the integrity, capability and performance of the daily operation assuring compliance and achievement in accordance with SEE’s Vision, Mission and Goals.
The Assistant Operations Manager provides direction and guidance to operations staff for all activities by liaison between our customer and our production operations. The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager by effective and efficient execution of the day to day operations. The Assistant Operations Manager will be expected to manage all aspects related to their department and be sufficiently competent and flexible in resolving both short and long term issues/goals.
Essential Job Functions (to include but not limited to):
• Must possess a solid understanding of production outputs, budgets, labor efficiency material, and effective personnel utilization. • Maintains operations staff by exhibiting confidence to inspire and motivate. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills to interact with other business units, employees, and outside vendors. • Drive quality in to all we do to ensure customer satisfaction and prevent repeat issues. • Proven project management, time management and leadership skills as well as problem solving and decision making skills. • Develop specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget and manpower requirements. • Participate in developing and executing strategic initiatives within Operations. • Responsible for meeting on time delivery and productivity goals. • Track, compile and analyze performance; improve processes and route scheduling. • Develops Operations department budget. • Identifies process improvement opportunities and creates a plan of action for them. • Innovate and take initiative to achieve financial objectives set by the company. • Establish and achieve productivity/quality standards KPI’s. • Actively promote, encourage, and support Quality Circle groups. • Performs other duties as required by immediate supervisor • Must be able and willing to work any shift, hours, holidays, weekends and/or overtime as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS): To perform and succeed in this position, an individual must be able to understand and perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are a representation of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required: • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field OR at least 5-7 years of operations or sales experience with a minimum of 3 years in a management position. • Experience with supply chain management systems. • Solid personal computer aptitude with strong capability with Microsoft Office products: Excel, Outlook, and Word. • Strong working knowledge with 5S and Lean principles. • Professional communication and interpersonal skills. • Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to learn and apply new technologies. • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels in organization. • Bi-lingual Japanese/English (preferred)
Working Conditions: • Work is performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. • Associate may be required to spend time in the production area with exposure to noise, dust, odors and fumes.
