The Greenwood Shrine Club will be hosting their 11th Annual Chili Cookoff on Saturday, February 23, 2019 including Johnny Badlove entertaining after the competition.
Think you have a great chili recipe? Come on out and put your Chili to the test!
Pre-Register by February 16 for $20, afterwards it will be $30. This registration includes one tasting bracelet to sample chili by all others.
Anyone can attend the event for $10 which give you a chance to taste and judge all the cooked chili and vote for the Taster’s Choice.
Cooking starts at 11 a.m. followed by judging at 3pm and winners announced at 4pm. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners plus a Taster’s Choice winner.
Official Contest Rules & Regulations:
Traditional Red Chili is defined by all experts as any kind of meat or combination of meats cooked with red chili peppers, various spices & other ingredients, i.e beans.
No ingredients may be pre-cooked in any way prior to the official cook off with the only exceptions being canned or bottled tomatoes; tomato sauce; peppers; pepper sauce; beans; rice; macaroni; beverages; broth & grinding and or mixing of spices.
You must bring everything you will need to cook your chili on-site. Chili must be cooked at the club.
Must cook a minimum of 2 gallon of chili.
